Sabrina Dickerson won her fifth singles match 6-1, 6-1 and her third doubles match 6-2
Box Score SALEM, Va.- The Randolph women's tennis team was back on the court on Thursday as it traveled to Roanoke to face the Maroons. The WildCats easily handled the Maroons as they won 7-0.
The WildCats improve to 5-3 overall and are now 3-0 in ODAC play.
The teams played singles first. Lena Kersten (Bonn, Germany) defeated Lia Streibich 6-0, 6-2 at first singles. Fleur Gaalman (Abcoude, Utrecht, Netherlands Haarlemmermeer Lyceum Dalton) won 6-0, 6-0 over Raygan Wade at second singles. Lize van Veen (Harderwijk, The Netherlands RSG Slingerbos) was a 6-3, 6-1 winner over Julia Bassett at third singles. Emma Bauer (Munich, Germany) took down Victoria Rios 6-2, 6-0 at fourth singles. Sabrina Dickerson (Brookneal, Va.) won 6-1, 6-1 at fifth singles against Morgan Tobey. Maddie Mills (Fredericksburg, Va./Riverbend) needed a super tiebreaker in her match with Camryn Breedlove. After dropping the first set 6-2, Mills recovered to win the next two 6-4 and 1-0 (10-3.
In the doubles portion, Kersten and van Veen defeated the duo of Wade and Streibich 6-4 at first doubles. Gaalman and Bauer won 6-2 over Basset and Rios 6-2. Dickerson and Gianna Cabrera (Portsmouth, Va.) won their third doubles match with Breedlove and Sidney Wright 6-2.
With her victories today, Kersten reaches 50 for her career.
Randolph returns home to host Shenandoah in a non-conference match on Saturday. Start time is 1:00 p.m.
