Women's Lacrosse Bested by Virginia Wesleyan

LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Randolph women's lacrosse team hosted conference opponent, Virginia Wesleyan, this afternoon at WildCat Stadium. The WildCats fell 16-2 to the Marlins in conference play. 

It was the Marlins early on establishing control, outsourcing the WildCats 8-0 in the first period. Randolph struggled to get any offensive momentum throughout the game, managing two goals in the third quarter. Both came late in the period from Mackenzie Woodson at the 5:30 mark and from Emille Taduran, assisted by Jaci Moore, at 3:59, bringing the score 2-13.

However, Virginia Wesleyan maintained a commanding lead. The Marlins scored three more times in the final quarter.

Randolph had a total of 12 shots, picked up nine ground balls, and put together 11 caused turnovers. In the goal, Mireya Norville started and had five saves and then Jessica Reyes came in and had three saves.

Moore led the offense with five shots and three shots on goal. Mackenzie Woodson had three shots, two on target, and two ground balls. 

The 'Cats return to WildCat Stadium on Wednesday at 7 p.m. for a conference match-up against Eastern Mennonite.
