Men’s Tennis Falls to Greenville

HILTON HEAD, S.C.- The Randolph men's tennis team played its second and final match at Hilton Head on Thursday morning. The WildCats lost to Greenville 5-2.

The pair of Jacob Martin (Wadebridge Cornwall, Great Britain/Callywith College) and Ondra Pelda (Prague, Czech Republic) won their first doubles match in a close decision, 7-6, over the duo of Rafael Rodriguez and Clark Kent.

Andreas Mulner (Brasnov, Romania) won his second singles match over Rodriguez 6-2, 6-2. Carlos Haupt (Weston, Fla./FLVS) went to a super tiebreaker in his sixth singles match against Kent. Haupt edged out Kent 7-6 in the first set while Kent claimed the second set 6-2. Haupt recovered to win the third set 1-0 (10-4). Martin lost his first singles match to Andres Sanchez 2-6, 7-6, 0-1 (6-10). Vincenzo Marchese also went to a super tiebreaker in this third singles match against Colton Hulme. Hulme won the first set 6-4 while Marchese took the second set 6-1, Hulme won the third set 1-0 (10-4).
