West Leads the WildCats at the Joe LaRocco Invite

SALEM, Va. - Randolph Men's Track and Field team had a strong showing at the Joe LaRocco Invitational, with standout performances across several events and several personal bests.

In the 60m , Xavier Calloway ran a solid 7.27 (7.266) in his heat, while Colby Lambert followed with a time of 7.33, and Landon Petcher posted a time of 7.56. In the 60m Hurdles, Cole Torres placed 12th with a time of 9.13. In the 200m, Eric West ran an impressive 22.36 to place first. Lambert finished with a solid 23.16, and Kendric Love posted a personal best of 23.67 (23.661).

The 400m was a strong event for Randolph, with West winning the event in 50.34. Love showed his speed with a 52.07, and Christian Humes ran 52.66. Lambert's 52.74 rounded out the solid performances, while Petcher finished with 54.70. In the mile, Tanner Cochran raced to a time of 4:30.23, while in the 3000m, Tyler Brubaker set a personal best of 9:53.58.

In the long jump, Calloway posted a distance of 6.42m (21-00.75) and in the triple jump, Calloway leaped 11.99m (39-04.00) to finish 17th. In the pole vault, Jayden Watkins vaulted 4.26m (13-11.75) to finish 3rd, while Peyton Jackson cleared 3.81m (12-06.00). The shot put Xavier White reached 11.77m (38-07.50), while Watkins posted 11.50m (37-08.75) and Julio Alvarenga hit 9.18m (30-01.50).

The weight throw featured White with a solid throw of 14.36m (47-01.50) for 7th place, while Alvarenga set a personal best of 11.25m (36-11.00), and Henry Harlow also recorded a personal best of 10.37m (34-00.25).

The 'Cats are back on the track when they go to Virginia Tech on Friday and Saturday.
