LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Randolph College women's basketball team opened its 2025-26 season on Friday night, falling 41-65 to William Peace.
The visiting Pacers jumped out to an early lead, outscoring the WildCats 21-7 in the first quarter. Randolph battled back with 13 points in the second frame, but William Peace maintained control heading into halftime with a 35-20 advantage.
The third quarter proved decisive as the Pacers held Randolph to just two points, extending their lead to 30. The WildCats responded in the fourth, posting their best offensive quarter with 19 points, but the deficit was too much.
Pariz Minor finished the game with a double-double of 12 points and 13 rebounds. She also had three steals, one block, and one assist.
Makiah Scott had eight points, four rebounds, four assists, and one steal for the WildCats.
Sophia Stevens and
Amaya Thrash each had six points.
Talia Edmond collected seven rebounds and
Kamora Lewis had six rebounds.
As a team, they shot 23.2% from the field, 13.3% from the three-point line, and posted a 70.0% from the line, going 7-10.
The team hits the road to Mary Baldwin on Wednesday for 6 p.m. tip-off.
