SALEM, Va. - Randolph women's track and field team finished the weekend with Day 2 of the Finn Pincus Invitational, hosted by Roanoke College, with personal bests and season-best efforts highlighting the meet.
In the 200m, sophomore
Tatianna Langston led the WildCats with a season-best time of 27.30. Sophomore
Jessica Taylor followed closely with a time of 27.35, senior
Jaidyn Turner clocked 28.59, while first-year
Lily Whiting ran 30.83.
In the 400m, Taylor shined, finishing eighth overall with a time of 1:01.82, just shy of her personal best. First-year
Shaniya Owens clocked a 1:09.00 not too far off her personal best as well.
Ryleigh Frayser finished with a 10th-place finish in the 1000m, clocking 3:28.50 for a school record in a competitive field.
Senior
Kendra Smith competed in both the long jump and triple jump. She recorded a mark of 4.75m (15-07.00) in the long jump and leaped a 9.83m (32-03.00) in the triple jump for an 11th-place finish. Sophomore
Kiersten Alling delivered an impressive performance in the weight throw, launching a personal best and a new school record 15.14m (49-08.25) to secure sixth place. Her throw currently ranks 47th in Division III this season. She also competed in the shot put and threw a mark of 9.63m (31-07.25). Senior
Vivianna Gustin recorded a mark of 7.54m (24-09.00) in the shot put.
Up next, the 'Cats head to the VMI Invitational on Friday and Saturday for a two-day meet in Lexington, Va.
