SALEM, Va. - Randolph men's track and field team delivered standout performances on Day 2 of the Finn Pincus Invitational, hosted by Roanoke College. The WildCats showcased their talent with podium finishes, personal bests, and season-best efforts across various events.
In the 200m, sophomore
Jordan Edwards led Randolph with a strong 11th-place finish, clocking 23.02. Senior
Colby Lambert followed closely running a time of 23.14. Sophomore
Gary Hunter posted 24.04, while First-year
Azavion Childress (24.83) for a personal best, and
Landon Petcher (24.91).
In the 400m, Lambert achieved a season-best of 51.88, placing 13th overall. Senior
Cole Torres clocked a season-best 54.68, while Petcher recorded 55.97. Senior
Tyler Brubaker delivered a personal best of 2:48.86 in the 1000m, finishing ninth. In the 5000m, senior
Tanner Cochran secured a podium finish, placing third with a strong time of 15:45.05 just shy of his school record.
Junior
Mario Carter led the WildCats in the jumps, placing eighth in the triple jump with a mark of 12.63m (41-05.25), and the long jump had a mark of 6.04m (19-09.75). Sophomore
Peyton Jackson recorded a season-best 12.38m (40-07.50) in the triple jump, placing 12th. Sophomore
Xavier Calloway set a personal best in the triple jump with a mark of 12.06m (39-06.75) and jumped 5.61m (18-05.00) in the long jump.
First-year
Julio Alvarenga and
Xavier White had strong showings in the throws. Alvarenga achieved a personal best in the shot put with a mark of 11.84m (38-10.25), while White followed with 11.20m (36-09.00). In the weight throw, White set personal best, launching 13.52m (44-04.25) for 14th place, with Alvarenga recording 10.07m (33-00.50).
