SALEM, Va. - The WildCats kicked off the Finn Pincus Invitational, hosted by Roanoke College, with strong performances on Day 1.
In the men's 60m prelims, sophomore
Jordan Edwards led the team with a time of 7.22, followed by
Gary Hunter in 7.25. Senior
Colby Lambert clocked a personal best of 7.30 while
Eric West ran a 7.32 and
Xavier Calloway with a time of 7.34.
Christian Humes rounded out the team with a 7.54.
In the mid-distance events, West highlighted the day by winning the men's 300m with an impressive time of 36.47 for a new school record. In the 3000m, senior
Tyler Brubaker ran a time of 10:13.46. Wrapping up the day,
Peyton Jackson reached new heights in the pole vault with a personal best of 3.86m (12'08").
The 'Cats are back in action tomorrow for Day 2 of the Finn Pincus Invitational. Track events start at 10:30 a.m. and field events begin at 10 a.m.
