WINCHESTER, Va.- The Randolph men's tennis team took on Shenandoah in an ODAC match on Saturday afternoon. The Hornets had the upper hand on the WildCats as they won by the score of 6-3.
Randolph's overall record now stands at 7-6 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
The 'Cats took one of three doubles matches. The pair of Jacob Martin and Ondra Pelda (Prague, Czech Republic) edged out Artem Babaiev 8-7 at first doubles. It was another close match at third doubles as Jason Duval and Angelo De Asis (Clayton, N.C./Cleveland HS) lost a close decision to Anton McCloskey and Aryanth Chintharlapalli 8-7.
In singles play, Martin defeated Jovan Cirkovic 7-5, 6-4. Andreas Mulner (Brasnov, Romania) won 6-3, 6-4 over Babaiev at second singles.
The WildCats will next travel to Hampden-Syndey on Tuesday. The match begins at 4:00 p.m.
