Men’s Tennis Falls to Virginia Wesleyan

LYNCHBURG, Va- The Randolph men's tennis team hosted Virginia Wesleyan in a designated non-conference match on Monday afternoon. The Marlins prevailed on the day as they won by the score of 8-1.

Randolph's lone win came at second doubles. Andreas Mulner (Brasnov, Romania) and Dev Mani (Bangladore, India/St. Claret PU College) defeated the duo of Sebastien Muller and Francis Cabaddu 8-5. First doubles was the last match to finish as Jacob Martin and Ondra Pelda (Prague Czech Republic) needed a tiebreaker to decide the match. They would ultimately fall 8-7 to the pair of Ole Behrmann and Tudor Vlad.

The singles portion was competitive throughout. Martin dropped a 7-6, 6-2 decision to Behrmann at first singles. Mulner kept it tight against Muller at second singles but lost by the score of 6-3, 6-4. Mani was the last one on the court as his fifth singles match was 6-4, 6-3 in favor of his opponent Cabaddu. Angelo de Asis (Clayton, N.C./Cleveland HS) lost to Camden Perry 6-1, 6-4 at sixth singles.

The WildCats host Bridgewater this Wednesday. The match begins at 2:00 p.m.
