GREENSBORO, N.C.- The Randolph men's lacrosse team embarked on its first road trip of the season as the WildCats travelled to Greensboro on Saturday. The Pride led from beginning to end as they won 19-7.
Greensboro led 2-0 one minute into the first quarter. Randolph got on the board at 13:07 as Josh Parker (Fort Moore, Ga./North Stafford HS) assisted Michael Baldwin (Culpepper, Va./Liberty HS) on the score. The Pride pulled away as they scored four straight times to go ahead 6-1 with 6:46 remaining in the period. The WildCats cut their deficit in half with goals by Nathan Pradachith (Alexandria, Va./Edison HS) and Baldwin to make it a 6-3 contest with 3:40 on the clock. Greensboro scored once more to go ahead 7-3 at the conclusion of the quarter.
The Pride took a 10-3 lead with 5:42 remaining in the second quarter. Baldwin scored again for the 'Cats with an unassisted extra-man goal with 4:38 showing on the game clock. Greensboro scored its 11th goal with 30 seconds left to lead 11-4 at halftime.
Greensboro maintained its lead over the WildCats in the third quarter. Randolph halved its deficit again as Baldwin scored twice in a row to make it a 14-7 game with 3:04 remaining in the third quarter. The Pride pulled away with a five-goal fourth quarter.
Baldwin finished with five goals on the afternoon. Chase Callan (Fredericksburg, Va./Massaponax) had one goal and three assists. Pradachith scored once and assisted on a second goal. He picked up seven groundballs and was 12-of-22 on faceoffs.
Randolph travels to Warren Wilson on Wednesday. Game time is at 4:00 p.m.
