Men’s Lacrosse Defeats Warren Wilson 19-3

SWANNANOA, N.C.- The Randolph men's lacrosse team traveled to North Carolina to face Warren Wilson on Wednesday afternoon. The WildCats defeated the Owls 19-3 to even their overall record at 3-3.

The Owls scored the game's first goal at 13:10 of the first quarter. That was the only time Randolph trailed all day as Ethan Caldwell (Santa Fe, N.M./Santa Fe Prep School) tied it up at 10:33 and then Bruce Patterson (Fork Union, Va./Fork Union Military Academy) put the WildCats ahead at the 7:24 mark of the first quarter.

Randolph scored 15 goals spanning the first and second quarters. The WildCats exploded for 10 goals in the second quarter alone.

The WildCats ended the day leading in total shots 46-17 and in groundballs 26-18.

Caldwell scored three times and assisted on two other goals. Shamar Stanley (Arrington, Va./Nelson County) also netted three goals. Chase Callan (Fredericksburg, Va./Massaponax) scored three goals and assisted on a fourth as did Michael Baldwin (Culpepper, Va./Liberty HS). Patterson scored twice and dished out three assists. Cooper Callan (Fredericksburg, Va./Massaponax) added two goals and two assists. Leyton Brightly (Spotsylvania, Va./James Monroe) scored a pair of goals.

Nathan Pradachith (Alexandria, Va./Edison HS) had a team-high six groundballs and was 11-of-13 on faceoffs. Tom Stahler (Johannesburg, South Africa/Middle Township) picked up five groundballs and went 2-for-3 in faceoffs. Adam Ulffers (Greenville, N.C./J.H. Rose HS) turned away nine shots in goal.

Randolph travels to Juniata College on Saturday. Game time will be at 3:00 p.m.
