LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph men's tennis team hosted Randolph-Macon in a designated non-conference match on Saturday afternoon. The WildCats topped the Yellow Jackets 8-1.
For Randolph, it marks just the second win over Randolph-Macon in program history and the first since 2016. The WildCats improve their overall record to 7-5.
The WildCats took all three matches in doubles play. In the singles portion, Jacob Martin got past Max Hammock 6-3, 7-5, Andreas Mulner (Brasnov, Romania) topped Braxton Fagan 6-1, 6-1 at second singles. Ondra Pelda (Prague, Czech Republic) took care of Max Doyle 6-2, 6-0 at third singles. Jason Duval was a 6-2, 6-0 winner over Winston Chapman at fourth singles. Luis Cobos (Edinburg, Texas) won at sixth singles over William Adair 6-2, 6-4.
Randolph will face Hampden-Sydney on Wednesday. The match begins at 3:30 p.m.
