LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph volleyball team hosted Washington and Lee on Friday night at Giles Gymnasium. The Generals won in three sets 3-0 (25-16, 25-19, 25-22).

The WildCats led 3-2 early in the first set but W&L went on a 12-4 run to go ahead 14-7. The Generals lead grew to 23-13 but the 'Cats cut into the deficit with a string of three straight points. W&L notched the last two points in the set to win 25-16.

Randolph took a 3-0 lead in the second set but Washington and Lee rattled off eight straight points to lead 8-3. The WildCats slowly chipped away at the General lead as they closed the score to 15-13. Washington and Lee pushed ahead with an 8-2 run to lead 23-15. The WildCats closed to within five points at 24-19 but ultimately gave up match point to fall 24-19.

The WildCats kept pace with the Generals in the third set. Randolph led 11-10 but the Generals came back to go up 19-14. The 'Cats trailed 20-19 and 23-21. Washington and Lee had just enough to secure the last two points it needed to win the set 25-22.

Tahani Villines (Whittset, N.C./Williams) led the WildCats with 10 kills to go along with seven digs and three service aces. Brooklyn Finnerty (Lynchburg, Va./Timberlake) added nine kills, six total blocks. Gracie Fulton (Staunton, Va./Riverheads) had a team-high 13 digs. Jayda Domenech (Virginia Beach, Va./Kempsville) finished with 14 assists and eight digs.

Randolph hosts a tri-match tomorrow afternoon. The WildCats face Hollins in an ODAC match at 12:00 p.m. and end with Virginia University of Virginia at 4:00 p.m.
