LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph men's tennis team hosted Lynchburg in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference match on Monday afternoon. The Hornets won the cross-city matchup 9-0.
Nicolas Alvarado (Santiago, Chile/Colegio Olimpo) and
Dev Mani (Bangalore, India/St. Claret PU College) took five games in their first doubles match against Alex Rintoul and Levi Vigdorchik but fell 8-5. The third doubles pair of
Max Karass (Ratingen, Germany/ Theodor-Heuss Gymnasium) and
Noah Carney (Charleston, W.V./Homeschool) won one game against the pair of Carter McCleary and Cooper Brewen.
Mani won three games in the first set and one game in the second set in his second singles match with Emile Paindavoine.
Angelo De Asis (Clayton, N.C./Cleveland HS) and Carney both won a game in their respective matches.
Jose Merhej (Fairfax, Va./Oakton) won two games against Sebastian Sierra at fourth singles.
Randolph travels to Ferrum on Wednesday for a 4:00 p.m. match.
