FERRUM, Va.- The Randolph men's tennis team made a mid-week trip to Ferum to face the Panthers on Wednesday afternoon. The WildCats won all of their doubles and singles matches as they topped Ferum 9-0.
First and third doubles were both won by 8-2 scores.
Jose Merhej (Fairfax, Va./Oakton) and
Angelo De Asis (Clayton, N.C./Cleveland HS) outlasted the pair of Will Davis and Nico Roth 8-5 at second doubles.
Nicolas Alvarado (Santiago, Chile/Colegio Olimpo) was a 6-0, 6-1 winner at first singles.
Dev Mani (Bangladore, India/St. Claret PU College) won his team-leading eighth match of the season with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Kevin Nester at second singles. De Asis was a 6-4, 6-3 winner at third singles. Merhej won his fourth singles match 6-1, 6-2.
Max Karass (Ratingen, Germany/Theodor-Heuss Gymnasium) took down Alexis Fidalgo 6-3, 6-1 at fifth singles.
Noah Carney (Charleston, W.V./Homeschool) won his first collegiate match 6-1, 6-1 over Josh Johnson at sixth singles.
Randolph travels to Virginia Wesleyan next Wednesday. The match starts at 1:00 p.m.
