LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph men's tennis team hosted Shenandoah in an ODAC match on Saturday afternoon. The Hornets bested the WildCats as they won by the score of 8-1.
Randolph's only win on the day came at first doubles. The pair of
Nicolas Alvarado (Santiago, Chile./Colegio Olimpo) and
Dev Mani (Bangladore, India/St. Claret PU College) defeated Jovan Cirkovic and Artem Babaiev 8-6. It is the pair's third straight win.
Alvarado had a tough match against Circkovic at first singles. Cirkovic won 7-5, 6-3. Mani saw his five-match winning steak end as he was knocked off by Babaiev 6-2, 6-1 at second singles.
Max Karass (Ratingen, Germany Theodor-Heuss Gymnasium) had a battle with Brenton Baugh at fifth singles. Baugh edged out Karass 6-4, 6-3.
Randolph will make the short trip across town to face Lynchburg on Thursday. Match time is at 3:30 p.m.
