LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph women's tennis team hosted Guilford on Sunday afternoon in an ODAC match. The WildCats defeated the Quakers 8-1 for their first conference win of the season.
Randolph's overall record evens at 5-5 and is now 1-3 in ODAC play.
The WildCats won two matches in doubles play.
Sabrina Dickerson (Brookneal, Va.) and
Harper Whetzel (Grottoes, Va./Harrisonburg) teamed up to defeat the duo of Nya Reed and Hannah Pardue 8-4 at second doubles.
One through five singles were all winners for the WildCats.
Valentina Santos (Valencia, Venezuela) handled Pardue 6-0, 6-3. Dickerson was a 6-3, 6-4 victor over Ashley Belnap. Whetzel won her third singles match over Jolie Nhouyvanisvong 6-1, 6-1.
Jenna Fink (Madison Heights, Va./Amherst) won 7-5, 6-4 over Reed at fourth singles.
Cassidy Bell (Monroe, Va./Amherst County) won in straight sets over Yasmine Elabdellaoui 6-0, 6-0 at #5. Sixth singles was won by default for Randolph.
The WildCats travel to Bridgewater on Wednesday. Match time is at 3:00 p.m.
