Women’s Tennis Edged by Bridgewater 5-4

Harper Whetzel and Sabrina Dickerson won 8-6 at second doubles
Box Score BRIDGEWATER, Va.- The Randolph women's tennis team traveled to Bridgewater to face the Eagles in a midweek ODAC match on Wednesday. The Eagles defeated the WildCats 5-4.

Randolph won took one match in doubles play. The pair of Harper Whetzel (Grottoes, Va./Harrisonburg) and Sabrina Dickerson (Brookneal, Va.) won 8-6 over the duo of Malena Hoover and Grace Knighton at second doubles.

In the singles portion, Valentina Santos (Valencia, Venezuela Instituto de Education Activa IDEA) won at first singles 6-4, 6-0 over Emma Nesselrodt. Dickerson was a 6-4, 6-4 victor over Emily Daigneault at second singles. Cassidy Bell (Monroe, Va./Amherst County) needed three sets in her sixth singles match against Kaci Pitsenbarger. Bell dropped the first set 6-3 but recovered to take the next two 7-6 and 6-4. Whetzel also went three sets in her third singles match with Hoover. Hoover took the first set 6-2 and Whetzel the second set 6-4 while the third set went in Hoover's favor 6-3.

Randolph hosts Shenandoah on Saturday. Match time is at 1:00 p.m.
