LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph women's lacrosse team hosted Eastern Mennonite in the WildCats' home opener on Wednesday evening. Randolph controlled the game from the onset as it won by the score of 18-4.

Sophia Cirone (Stuart, Fla./South Fork) had a nine-point game (7g, 2a) to lead the WildCats. She also caused four turnovers and won three draw controls. Olivia Richards (Limestone, Tenn./Pinecrest) tallied four goals and won a team-high eight draws. Beverly Alcock (Purcellville, Va.) netted three goals, picked up four groundballs, and caused three turnovers. Mackenzie Woodson (Norfolk, Va./Norfolk Collegiate) scored twice. Logan Warren (Chesterfield, Va./Steward School) and Cristina Berenguer-Llongueras (Barcelona, Spain) both scored once.  Yanessa Cabrera (Manassas, Va./Stonewall Jackson) assisted on two scores, scooped up five groundballs, and caused four turnovers.

Taylor Batty (Hampton, Va./Kecoughtan) made eight saves in the cage.

Randolph led in total shots 40-17 and in shots on goal 28-12. The WildCats edged the Royals in groundballs 19-15.

The WildCats host William Peace on Saturday. Game time will be at 1:00 p.m.
