LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph men's tennis team hosted Averett in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference match on Thursday afternoon. The Cougars won 9-0.
At first doubles, the pair of
Nicolas Alvarado (Santiago, Chile) and
Dev Mani (Bangladore, India) took one game against Shori Nishizoe and Jorge Figueroa.
Alvarado battled against Figueroa, a NCAA participant two years ago, at first singles. Figueroa won 6-4, 7-5. Mani won three games against Fukushima in the second set of their second singles match.
Angelo De Asis (Clayton, N.C.) claimed a game in both the first and second set in his third singles match against Theodor Garmo.
Jose Merhej (Fairfax, Va.) won a game in the first second set in fifth singles against Philipp Bohnenkamp.
Randolph will host Maryville (Tenn.) on Sunday afternoon. The match starts at 12:00 p.m.
