LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph men's lacrosse team opened its 2023 season on Saturday evening as it hosted Warren Wilson at WildCats Stadium. It was all WildCats on the night as they went on to win 15-0 over the Owls.
It is Randolph's first shutout win since defeating Franciscan 16-0 in 2013.
Bruce Patterson (Fork Union, Fla./Fork Union Military Academy),
Ethan Caldwell (Santa Fe, N.M./Santa Fe Prep School), and
Sean Landis (Williamsburg, Va./Lafayette) all had hat tricks for the 'Cats. Caldwell and Landis both had assists.
Leyton Brightly (Spotsylvania, Va./James Monroe) and
Tyler Johnson (Alexandria, Va./Thomas Edison) both scored twice.
Chase Callan (Fredericksburg, Va.) and
Nick Pietro (Spotsylvania, Va./Massapanox) both scored one goal each.
Pietro picked up six groundballs and caused three turnovers.
Tom Stahler (Cape May Court House, N.J./Middle Township) had five groundballs and was 6-of-8 on face offs.
CJ Berry (Fredericksburg, Va./Massaponax) caused four turnovers and Brightly three turnovers.
Nathan Filipiack (Christiansburg, Va./Christiansburg) and
Nathan Pradachith (Alexandria, Va./Edison) were both 4-of-5 on face offs.
Adam Ulffers (Greensville, N.C./J.H. Rose HS) had three saves for his first collegiate win.
Randolph will host Brevard next Friday at 6:00 p.m.
