Box Score ELIZABETH CITY, N.C.- The Randolph women's basketball team played its final game before the upcoming Christmas break as the WildCats traveled to Mid-Atlantic Christian to face the Mustangs on Monday afternoon. The 'Cats dominated all four quarters of the game as they defeated the Mustangs 83-29.
With the win, the WildCats improve to 7-3 on the season.
It was a six-point game, 12-6, with 3:28 remaining in the first quarter. Randolph led 20-10 at the end of the period.
The Mustangs scored the first basket of the second quarter to cut the score to 20-12. From that point, Randolph went on a 19-6 run to break the game open and led 39-18 at halftime. The WildCats never looked back as they increased their advantage through the third and fourth quarters.
Overall, Randolph shot 35-of-84 (41.7%) from the field and made 8-of-31 (25.8%) from behind the three-point arc. From the free throw line, the 'Cats were 5-of-6 (83.3%). The WildCats dominated on the glass 55-27.
Kylie Stark (Lynchburg, Va./Brookville) led the way with 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting. She pulled down seven rebounds and came away with three steals. Imani Hardin (Knoxville, Tenn./West HS) finished with 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting. Caiyah Smith (Manassas, Va./Virginia Academy) added eight points, five rebounds and four steals.
"Nice way to wrap our pre-holiday schedule," said head coach Steve Lanpher after the game. "We were really unselfish today and really moved the ball well against their zone."
The WildCats return to action on December 29 as they face Liberty University in an exhibition. Game time from Liberty Arena will be at 7:00 p.m.
