DANVILLE, Va.- The Randolph men's soccer team traveled to Averett to take on the Cougars on Wednesday evening. Both teams picked up a point in the standings as they played to a 0-0 tie.
There were just three shots on goal for both teams in the game. Randolph had one shot on frame in the first period while the Cougars had two. The WildCats registered two shots on goal in the second and Averett one.
Total shots favored Randolph 9-7.
Carter Kelly (Carrollton, Va./Smithfield) tallied three saves in goal recording his second straight shutout and his fifth overall of the season. Averett keeper Tyler Yates made three saves for the Cougars.
The WildCats go to Eastern Mennonite on Saturday. Game time from Harrisonburg is at 4:00 p.m.
