BUENA VISTA, Va- The Randolph volleyball team played a non-conference match at Southern Virgina on Thursday evening. The Knights won the match 3-0 (25-18, 25-22, 25-16).

In the first set, Randolph got out to a 3-0 lead. Southern Virginia answered with a 10-1 run to go up 10-4. The WildCats came back to cut into the Knight lead to make it 16-15. The Knights went on a 9-3 run to close out the 'Cats and win the frame 25-18.

In the second set, Southern Virginia got out ahead to an 11-4 lead. With the match at 16-8 in the Knights' favor, the WildCats went on a 7-1 run to close the set to 17-15. Southern Virginia pushed ahead to 24-18. A brief WilCat rally got Randolph to within two points at 24-22 but a kill by the Knights' Sydney Bassett gave Southern Virginia the match point.

The WildCats got out quickly to a 5-0 lead in the third set. The Knights game back to overtake the 'Cats and lead 13-8. Randolph tried to chip into the Southern Virgina lead but the Knights stayed out in front for the remainder of the set including registering the last four points to win the frame 25-16.

Mackenzie Woodson (Norfolk, Va./Norfolk Collegiate) led in kills with six and added five digs. Brooke Murdock (Evington, Va./Norfolk Collegiate) added five kills and six total blocks (four solo, two assisted). Jayda Domenech (Virginia Beach, Va./Kempsville) and Sequoyah Sorensen (Millville, UT/Western Albemarle) both had eight assists. Domenech led the team with 12 digs on the night. Gracie Fulton (Staunton, Va./Riverheads) contributed 10 digs.  

Randolph travels to Hood College on Saturday. Match start time is at 1:00 p.m.
