LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph men's tennis team hosted Randolph-Macon on Saturday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets narrowly defeated the WildCats by the score of 5-4.
The 'Cats gutted out a close victory at first doubles. Nicolas Alvarado (Santiago, Chile/Colegio Olimpo) and Alex Kulvivat (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) outlasted the pair of Max Hammock and Braxton Fagan 8-7. The 'Jackets picked up wins at second doubles 8-3, and third doubles 8-2.
Alvarado was also a winner at first singles as he defeated Hammock 6-2, 6-2. Kulvivat won over Ryan Aud 6-2, 6-0 at second singles. Bhuvan Ambekallu (Karnataka, India/Bethany High) was a winner at third singles as he defeated Fagan 6-4, 6-4.
Randolph travels to Shenandoah next Saturday. Match time is at 1:00 p.m.
