WINCHESTER, Va.- The Randolph men's tennis team traveled to Shenandoah to play the Hornets on Saturday. SU won by the score of 6-3.
Both doubles matches were 8-4 in Shenandoah's favor. The WildCats won at first, second, and third singles. Nicolas Alvarado (Santiago, Chile/Colegio Olimpo) went to three sets again Keith Orr at #1 singles. Alvrado dropped the first set 6-4 before recovering to claim the second set 7-5. Alvarado would take the super tiebreaker 10-5.
Alex Kulvivat (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) held off Gene Perle Jones 7-5, 7-5 at #2 singles. Bhuvan Ambekallu (Karnataka, India/Bethany High) easily handled Lance Dupuis 6-0, 6-1 at #3 singles.
Colby Cook (Smithfield, Va./Smithfield) fell 6-0, 6-3 to Aidan Steinly at #4 singles. Jose Merhej (Fairfax, Va./Oakton) dropped #5 singles to Brenton Baugh 6-0, 6-1.
The WildCats play at Roanoke next Saturday April 23. Match time is at 1:00 p.m.
