Men’s Track and Field Sets Records at ODAC Championship

Cody Thompson set a new record in the 800 meters and in the 4x400 relay

LYNCHBURG, Va- The Randolph men's track and field team wrapped up the second and final day of competition at the ODAC Championships held on the campus of the University of Lynchburg on Saturday. The WildCats had a couple of program records set on the day.

The 4x400 relay team of Tory Brown (Portsmouth, Va./Churchland), Colby Lambert (Chesapeake, Va./Western Branch), Blan Hodges (Hiddenite, N.C./Alexander Central), and Cody Thompson (Dunnellon, Fla./Crystal River) ran a time of 3:27.60. That tops the old record of 3:32.83 that was set in 2017.

Thompson was fifth in the 800 meters with a time of 1:55.72 to overtake his old record of 1:57.30 that was set two weeks ago. Luken Mason's (Stanton, Va.) time of 1:59.02 was a new personal best.

Brown ran a time of 50.23 in the 400 meter dash. It is the third-fastest time in program history.

Sha-Ron Bass (Greensboro, N.C./First Colonial) had a toss of 22.28 meters in the discus.
