WildCats Falls to Eagles 19-9

LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph men's lacrosse team hosted Juniata in a non-conference game on Wednesday afternoon at WildCat Stadium. Despite the WildCats outscoring the Eagles 8-5 in the second half, Juniata would go on to win the game by the score of 19-9.

JC led 4-0 in the first quarter before the 'Cats registered their first goal of the day with 4:29 remaining in the period. Juniata led 14-1 at halftime.

Trailing 16-1 early on in the third quarter, Randolph had a little run going as it tallied four straight scores in a row to make it 16-5. The Eagles scored twice in the beginning of the fourth quarter to go up 18-5. Tyler Johnson (Alexandria, Va./Thomas Edison) connected on back-to-back unassisted goals for the 'Cats to make it 18-7. After the Eagles scored to put the score at 19-7, Randolph ended the game with two straight goals to complete the scoring.

Johnson led the WildCats with three goals which were a career-high for him. Jack Dolan (Dumfries, Va./Potomac) also had a three-goal performance adding an assist for a four-point afternoon. Ethan Caldwell (Santa Fe, N.M./Santa Fe Prep School), Zach Miller (Corpus Christia, Texas/Fork Union Military Academy), and Nathan Pradachith (Alexandria, Va. Edison) all had one goal each.

Chad Melton (Midlothian, Va./Trinity Episcopal) picked up four groundballs to lead the 'Cats. Colin Murphy (Cedar Park, Texas/Austin) scooped up three ground balls and also caused three turnovers. Kyle Grundy (Warrenton, Va./Kettle Run) caused three turnovers. William Olichney (Lynchburg, Va.) had eight saves in goal.

Randolph travels to Warren Wilson on Saturday. Game time from Asheville, N.C. is at 2:00 p.m.
