Men’s Soccer Ties Averett in Home Finale 0-0

LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph men's soccer team hosted Averett in the WildCats' regular season home finale on Wednesday evening. Neither was able to score as the game ended in a scoreless tie.

There were just four shots in the first half with Randolph leading 3-1. In the second half, shots by Rhajee Scarlett (Atlanta, Ga./Rosewell) and Noah Carney (Charleston, W.V./Homeschool) went high of the goal. The Cougars were granted a penalty kick in the 88th minute with a chance to take the lead. Agustin Jararaba's attempt, however, went right of the goal and the game remained scoreless.

The WildCats had a couple of chances late to get on the board. Carney had a shot attempt go high. Following a corner kick, Brian Kuhl (Giessen, Germany/James Monroe) looked to get a shot on frame but it was saved by Averett keeper Oscar Aamoldt.

Overall, Randolph led in total shots 10-5. There were just three shots on goal the entire game with the WildCats holding a 2-1 edge. Corner kicks favored Randolph 6-5.

Aylor records his third shutout of the season and seventh of his career. He had one save Aamoldt finished with two saves.

The WildCats finished the season with an overall record of 6-6-3 and a 3-5-2 mark in the ODAC.
