LYNCHBURG, VA.- Much like the women's match, the Randolph men's tennis team had rain stop play on the WildCat courts. Visiting Guilford defeated the WildCats 5-0.
Randolph lost both of its doubles matches by scores of 8-1. Just one singles match was able to be completed. Colby Cook (Smithfield, Va./Smithfield) fell 6-1, 6-0 to Jay Montague at fourth singles. The third singles match of Bhuvan Ambekallu (Karnataka, India/Bethany High) and Drake Schreiber was one game away from being completed with Schreiber leading Ambekallu 5-0 in the second set after winning the first set 6-1. Nico Alvarado (Santiago, Chile/Colegio Olimpo) won 6-1 at first singles against Joe Horne was behind 2-1 in the second set. Alex Kulvivat (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) won 6-2 over Elijah Gregory and was behind 4-0 in the second set.
The WildCats travel to Virginia Wesleyan next Saturday. Match time is at 1:00 p.m.
