LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph men's tennis team secured its first win of the season on Sunday afternoon as the WildCats defeated Mary Baldwin. Randolph won by the score of 7-0.
Nico Alvarado (Santiago, Chile/Colegio Olimpo) and Alex Kulvivat (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) easily won their first doubles match against the pair of Connor Lindhjem and Gordon Bartosch 8-0. Colby Cook (Smithfield, Va./Smithfield) and Bhuvan Ambekallu (Karnataka, India/Bethany High) won their second doubles match by default.
Alvarado dispatched Lindhjem 6-0, 6-1 at first singles. Kulvivat won 6-0, 6-0 over Bartosch as did Ambekallu in his third singles match against Christian Schultz. Both Cook and Ramiro Chavez-Montoya (Roseland, Va./Nelson County) won by default in their matches.
The WildCats travel to Ferrum on Friday. Start time for the match is at 3:00 p.m.
