RICHMOND, Va.- The Randolph women's swimming team competed on the first day of the Yellow Jacket invitational hosted by Randolph-Macon College on Friday afternoon. The meet was held at the Collegiate Aquatic School in Richmond.
Four WildCats swam in the 50 freestyle event. The top time for Randolph belonged to Kyra Miller (Richmond, Va.) who finished a sub-30 second time of 29.88. Madeline Freshour (South Boston, Va./Halifax) posted a time of 31.06. Following her was Jasmine Beck (Manassas, Va.) (32.96) and Hannah Cloven (Fredericksburg, Va.) (35.36).
In the 200 IM, Bryanna Smith (Williamsburg, Va./Lafayette) was the top finisher for the 'Cats as she touched the wall in 2:26.97. Ava Skinner (Lynchburg, Va./Brookville) completed the event in a time of 21:46.76.
Eva Pontius (Lynchburg, Va.) swam a time of 6:11.59 in the 500 free. Molly McNair (New South Wales, Australia/Figtree) had a time of 6:52.46.
There were two relay squads that swam in the 200 free relay. The team of Pontius, Skinner, Smith, and McNair had the best time of the two as it had a time of 1:57.31. The quartet of Freshour, Miller, Beck, and Cloven had a time of 2:11.19.
Day 2 of the meet will start up tomorrow morning at 8:45 a.m.
