WildCats and Marlins Play to Scoreless Tie

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.- The Randolph men's soccer team faced its first road test in conference play as the WildCats traveled to Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday. The teams played through two overtime periods with neither scoring as the game ended in a scoreless tie.

The teams registered a total of 43 shots in the contest with the WildCats holding a 22-21 edge. Randolph led in shots on goal 10-7.

Zach Aylor (Vinton, Va./William Byrd) had a season-best seven saves in the net for Randolph. His counterpart for the Marlins, Griffin Potter, stopped nine shots.

Noah Carney (Charleston, W.V./Homeschool) had a team-best nine shots on the day with three coming on frame. Brandon John (Clarksburg, Md./Clarksburg) and Tucker Leverone (Suffolk, Va./Nansemond River) both had two shots on goal.

Randolph travels to Hampden-Sydney on Wednesday. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
