WildCats Headed to Bridgewater College for First Round
LYNCHBURG, VA – After the conclusion of the regular season on Saturday, the Randolph College women's basketball team learned where it would be heading in the first round of Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament. The WildCats, seeded 11th, will travel to sixth seeded Bridgewater College on Monday for a 7 p.m. matchup.
The two teams met only once this season, and that game took place at the end of January in the RAD Center. The Eagles won the contest, as Jessica Lam led BC with a game-high 27 points. The 'Cats had three scorers in double-figures, as Jacqueline Hockman, Abigail Bullins, and Rebecca Harvey finished with 17, 15, and 14 respectively. In addition, Randolph outrebounded its visitors 41-30.
The Eagles have two of the top scorers going in the conference going into the tournament. Lam is averaging 15.9 points per game, while Cassidy Burkholder is averaging 15. The two currently rank fifth and eighth respectively in the conference.
The 'Cats went with a more balanced approach in terms of scoring this season. Three players all averaged around the same amount. Korin Harris led the team in the regular season, scoring at a 10.6 clip. Bullins and Harvey came in at 10.4 and 10.2 respectively.
In terms of seeing the game, it will cost $5 for all adults. Students with proper IDs will be allowed to attend for free.
