WildCats Finish Play at the Maroon Classic

SALEM, VA – The Randolph College volleyball team finished up the two-day Roanoke College Maroon Classic on Saturday.  The WildCats fell to both Meredith College and Ferrum College, 3-0, on Saturday.

In the first game of the afternoon, the Angels beat the 'Cats in 12-25, 19-25, and 23-25.  Autumn Troxell had a great match on the attacking front, finishing with a percentage of .600.

The final match of the tournament was a rematch of the Tuesday thriller against the Panthers.  FC took the rematch 14-25, 13-25, and 19-25 but Alex Mariona once again had a big game.  She notched 12 kills and five digs.  Abby Bane had three service aces and five digs, while Elisabeth Price added 11 digs.  Brooks Gillerlain continued her streak of double-digit assist games with 17.  Gillerlain has had more than ten assists in every game so far in her short career.

Randolph (2-7 overall) begins Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play on Tuesday night.  The WildCats travel to Randolph-Macon College with the match set to begin at 7 p.m.
