Randolph Falls to Eastern Mennonite in Women's Basketball Action

Box Score

HARRISONBURG, Va. -- Randolph fell to the ODAC's top team, EMU, to fall to 2-1 in conference play.

Randolph (5-2, 2-1 ODAC) lost its second straight game against a 2013 NCAA tournament participant tonight, losing to the Royals 87-64.

After Eastern Mennonite (6-1, 3-0 ODAC) hit on a three pointer to start the game, first-year Jacqueline Hockman (Manasses, Va./Osbourn) and junior Chelsea Tyler (Richmond, Va./Henrico) each hit from the floor to give the WildCats the lead.

That would be the team's only lead of the game, however, as the Royals would score on their next trip down the floor, never to concede the lead again.

Eight players scored for Randolph in the first half and ten got their name in the scoring column overall.

None of the ten reached double figures until a three with five seconds left put first-year Brie Holdren (Bedford, Va./Staunton River) at 11.

Junior Allie Druffel (Centreville. Va./Westfield) matched a game high with eight rebounds to lead the WildCats.

Randolph will return home on Thursday against Mary Baldwin and will not resume with conference games until Jan. 11.
