Box Score ASHLAND, VA -- Randolph-Macon senior Mallory Carter posted a game-high 15 kills as the Yellow Jackets posted a perfect conference mark in knocking off the Randolph College volleyball team in three sets Thursday evening.
The Yellow Jackets (20-5/11-0 ODAC) earned the match victory with scores of 25-9, 25-20 and 25-19. Randolph (7-21/2-9 ODAC) was led by the eight kills from sophomore Grayce Darden (Martinsville, VA/Martinsville), who committed just three errors on 17 swings. Senior Sam Sublett (Bedford, VA/Staunton River) collected seven kills in her final league contest, also blocking two shots to pull to within one on the all-time assisted blocks lead.
First-year Marissa McClinton (Bealeton, VA/Liberty-Bealeton) chalked up five kills for Randolph, and fellow first-year Celine Rhodes (Barhamsville, VA/Jamestown) had four kills and two assisted rejections. Sophomore Kerry McMichael (Westminster, SC/West Oak) posted 15 assists to lead Randolph, while Lexi Harrington (Clemmons, NC/West Forsyth) accumulated eight digs.
Carter registered her game-high 15 kills on 30 attempts, finishing with a .467 hitting percentage. Bailey Troia had a double-double of 20 assists and 10 digs, while fellow setter Riley Martin added 13 helpers.
The WildCats will head to the Seahawk Invitational Friday afternoon in St. Mary's City, MD to take on St. Mary's College and Stevenson University.
