Childress is in her first season with the WildCats. She started her swimming career right here in Lynchburg when she was 6-years-old at Rainbow Forest Pool. Formerly a long time member of the Lynchburg YMCA swim and a 2017 graduate of Brookville High School, she then went on to swim at the NCAA Division I level for Canisius College '21 in Buffalo, New York. During her collegiate career, she was team captain her junior and senior year, and she won two individual titles in the MAAC championship: the 400 IM in 2020 and 2021.
For the last decade, she has had the privilege of being an assistant swim coach in the summers for the Oakwood Gators in the Lynchburg Aquatic League. A fun fact is that, head coach Greg Hoffman, actually taught her how to swim at that pool way back when!
