Lex (Taylor) Gillmore joined the Randolph Softball staff in July 2022 and works with the Wildcat hitters, infielders, and catchers.
Lex comes to Randolph after previously being a graduate assistant at Liberty University from 2018-2019 and was promoted to Director of Softball Operations at Liberty for 3 years.
A native of Oviedo, Florida, Taylor batted .302 for her career at Liberty (2015-18), graduating as the program career record holder with 10 sacrifice flies. Upon graduation, she ranked in the top 10 in program history in nine different statistical categories. She was the fourth player in program history with 200 or more career hits, 100 or more career runs scored and 100 or more RBI.
A highly decorated player, Taylor was voted the 2015 Big South Freshman of the Year. Additionally, she was named to the Big South All-Conference second team as a third baseman in both 2015 and 2017. Taylor received Big South All-Tournament Team honors as both a junior and a senior, becoming the first player in program history to be named to the Big South All-Tournament team in back-to-back years.
Lex graduated from Liberty in May 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies. She graduated with her Masters in elementary education in July 2022.
She resides in Madison Heights with her husband Brad Gillmore, daughter Aurora, and yorkies Zazu and Rajah.
