2013: One of the team leaders as he served another year as a captain as a junior ... was having a great season in the faceoff dot before an upper body injury caused him to miss the rest of the campaign ... only played eight games but finished one ground ball short of the team lead in the category ... scored once and dished out an assist ... won an outstanding 61.5 percent of his draws ... led the ODAC in faceoff percentage among people that took over 100 on the year ... opened the season with a goal, an assist and 11-of-13 faceoff wins at Southern Virginia ... won 10 of his 16 draws at Ferrum (February 20) ... went 10-for-14 against Christopher Newport ... earned 19 wins in 30 attempts in a home loss to Susquehanna ... dominated against Franciscan, winning 15 of his 17 draws, picking up a school record 15 ground balls ... was seven-of-11 agains Shenandoah before leaving with an injury ... had four games with seven or more loose balls ... will look to return to his dominant self as a senior ... is third all-time at the College in games played ... has won more faceoffs than any other WildCat going into his 2014 season.
2012: Was named a team captain as only a sophomore because of his work ethic ... not as skilled offensively, but still saw time in the midfield as well as on faceoffs ... finished with 78 ground balls on the season, sixth most in the ODAC ... posted 106 face-off wins on the campaign ... scored his first career goal against Huntingdon, adding a pair of assists as well in that game ... finished with four assists on the season ... picked up 10 ground balls as he went 11-for-15 in face-offs against Mitchell College ... had a season-high 13 face-off wins against Huntingdon ... was over 50 percent in seven games in 2012.
2011: Become one of the team leaders in only his first season...one of the hardest workers on the squad...gritty face-off man that also excelled on defense...started and played in 12 games as a first-year...picked up 40 ground balls, highlighted by his eight against Guilford...won 83 face-offs on the year...won 16 of 21 draws against Guilford...took 10 of 15 face-off wins from Virginia Wesleyan...was 9-18 against Albion...won Aaron Shacklette award as a first-year.
High School: John attended Battlefield High School in Haymarket, VA…played three varsity years on the lacrosse team…started for two seasons…captain for a season…made Second Team All District in 2010.
