Biography

2016 Ray Rostan Sporstmanship Team

2016: The team leader and captain had another solid season to close out a great career…did whatever the coaching staff asked of him…played in all 17 games, starting two of them…spent more time as a defensive middie in his final season, but still helped on the offensive end…scored three goals and assisted on three more tallies…had a goal and an assist in the win over Huntingdon…was a big part in a very stout defense, being in the right spot at all times…picked up 36 ground balls on the year, which was the fourth highest on the team…also won eight faceoff attempts…finished sixth on the all-time list in ground balls with 148…tied classmates Baden James and Andrew Gleitz with the most games played in program history with 64…will be sorely missed by the team and staff for what he did on and off the field.

2015: Took a very big step in his offensive play as a junior…played in all 14 games and started every game but one…scored a career-high of 13 goals and assisted on a career-high eight helpers…scored two goals in three games: wins over Southern Virginia, Illinois Wesleyan, and Greensboro…had assists in all of those games, including two against IWU, for a career-high four points…had another solid year with groundballs, as he picked up 38, which was third on the team…had a season-high of six against Bridgewater…showed his value defensively with seven caused turnovers…will look to end his career with a great season.

2014: Switched from primary faceoff man to a more offensive and defensive minded midfielder…scored five goals during the year, including the first of his career against Shenandoah University…also tallied an assist for a two-point game…picked up 22 groundballs, but was very impressive defensively as he caused seven turnovers during the season…will look to increase his workload and output on both ends of the field as a junior.

2013: Had one of the more gritty season for Randolph College in 2013...played with the No. 2 and No. 3 midfield lines throughout the year...was expected to be a change-of-pace face-off man but became the No. 1 guy after an injury midseason...showed a lot of toughness and fight for Randolph at the face-off dot late in the year...played in all 16 games for the WildCats...finished 19th in the ODAC in ground balls with 52...won the 11th most face-offs in the conference with 76 wins...dished out three assists...posted a massive 17-of-19 day against Bryn Athyn, adding 13 ground balls that contest...won nine of his 14 draws in a big 11-2 win over Bridgewater...had eight ground balls at Virginia Wesleyan (April 6)...won 10 face-offs against Guilford...handed out assists in Susquehanna, Roanoke and Bryn Athyn games.

Before Randolph: Was a four-year starter for the Wildcats of Bethel High School...named a team captain as a senior...helped lead the Wildcats to their first SWC Championship game.

Personal: Brian is the son of Bob and Meg Crosby...has one brother, Bobby, who also played lacrosse for the WildCats...majoring in business, minoring in economics and operations...has done martial arts in the past...chose Randolph because of the small class sizes as well as the opportunity to play lacrosse with his brother...enjoys MMA.
