2016 All-ODAC Third-Team
2016: Finished off a record-setting career with a great final season…started every game up top for the WildCats, serving as the main facilitator…was highly adept at finding open teammates in the right spot as he finished with 24 assists…the total was good for fifth in the ODAC…also fired in 15 goals on the year for 39 total points…posted multiple goals in three games, including a hat trick in the win over Bridgewater…had multiple assists in nine games, including four in the big win over Ferrum…had a season-high five points against the Eagles…also scooped up 34 ground balls and caused six turnovers…ends his career as the leader in points (154, 41 more than second) and assists (81, 50 more than second), while being third in goals scored…will be missed by the team and the coaching staff.
2015: Had an outstanding year in attack…appeared in every game and started 12 of them…scored 19 goals on the year, which was not a career-high, but he was even more helpful in facilitating things for the WildCats…he dished out a team- and career-high 25 assists…it was good for a tie for fifth in the ODAC, and his 44 points were tied for 14th in the conference…posted a hat trick and five assists in the wins over SVU and Illinois Wesleyan for eight points each game…also had a hat trick and four assists in the win over Greensboro…had nine groundballs against Southern Virginia…caused five turnovers on the ride…will look to continue his work as one of the best facilitators in the conference as a senior.
2014: Had another strong year for the WildCats attack…tallied 18 goals and 13 assists as a sophomore…recorded four hat tricks during the year…scored five goals against Bryn Athyn and added two assists for a career-high seven points…had four points in the win over Methodist and against Virginia Wesleyan…picked up 14 groundballs and caused seven turnovers during the season…will look to increase his totals as a junior.
2013: Was one of the biggests additions to the Randolph squad in 2013...offensively well-rounded...one of the best passers on the team...has a strong shot...should emerge as one of the better attacking threats for Randolph going forward...started all 16 games as a first-year...tied for the team lead with 40 points...second on the squad in goals with 21...set the school record for assists in a season with 19...had five man-up goals, second most on the team...added 40 ground balls...finished 11th in the ODAC in helpers...was 20th in the conference in points...13th in the league in man-up tallies...opened his career with a huge seven point outting against Southern Virginia, scoring four times to go with three assists...posted a school record for points in a game with eight against Bryn Athyn, scoring six times to go with two assists...handed out a single-game record four helpers in the season finale against Randolph-Macon April 20...had four goals in a win over Franciscan...had 11 multiple ground ball contests...tallied a point in all but three games.
Before Randolph: Went to Blue Ridge Prep for one year before transferrring to Annandale High School...lettered three times while starting two seasons in lacrosse...played for coach Bill Maglisceau...competed in the high school D1 AAA lacrosse championship...in one year at Blue Ridge, earned one letter and started at attack for lacrosse coach Kyle Gardner...at Annandale was also in the marching band and the jazz band.
Personal: Son of Bill and Maria Risse...has an older sister, Michelle, and an older brother, Bill...environmental studies major and biology minor...enjoys biking, longboarding, snowboarding, and being outside in his free time...came to Randolph because it is a beautiful small campus filled with awesome people.
