Shephard is in his first season as assistant coach with the men's basketball program. He was previously an Assistant Varsity Boys Basketball Coach at Allendale Columbia in Rochester, NY from 2020-2022. He was also the head basketball coach for the Rochester Cagers Basketball Club from March 2019 -2022.

The Rochester native is a 2021 graduate of Houghton College where he was a four-year member of the men's basketball team. He earned his Master of Science in Sports Administration from Canisius College in May 2022.
