Flag Football - Head Coach

Sinclair to Transition to Lead Flag Football Program and Administrative Role

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Randolph College Director of Athletics Tom Galbraith announced Wednesday that Andy Sinclair will transition within the department to become the school's inaugural head coach of women's flag football. Sinclair will also adopt the title of assistant director of athletics for operations.

Randolph announced earlier this spring the addition of women's flag football as its 23rd varsity sport and will begin competition in the 2028 spring season.

Sinclair has spent the last 15 seasons as the men's lacrosse head coach for the WildCats and will now shift those coaching skills to the building of the new women's flag football program. In addition, he will oversee the administration of the department's operations including game management and facilities, as well as assisting with NCAA eligibility.

"We didn't have to look far to find the right person to lead our new women's flag football program," Galbraith said of Sinclair's transition. "Andy is the consummate team player and loves this institution and department. His ability to connect with student-athletes and the care with which he leads were easy factors to demonstrate how well he will be able to transition to a new sport, and one that is exploding in popularity across the nation."

Sinclair expressed his enthusiasm and appreciation at the opportunity to launch a new sport for Randolph.

"I am incredibly honored and excited to be named the inaugural head coach for the new women's flag football program and thank President Sue Ott Rowlands and AD Tom Galbraith for their trust, support, and confidence in me to build this program from its inception. With the growth of the sport being pushed forward by the NCAA, the NFL, and the Olympics, the future is bright for flag football, and I am thrilled that Randolph will be part of that momentum."

Sinclair began his new duties officially on June 1.
