HIGH POINT, N.C. — The Randolph College men's track and field team competed at the VertKlasse Meeting hosted by High Point University on April 2-3.
Xavier White posted a season-best mark of 42.49m (139-5) in the hammer throw to lead Randolph in the field events.
On the track,
Edward Koroma crossed the line in 4:30.54 in the 1500m, while
Mason Williams finished in 4:54.21.
Ja'mar Smith turned in a pair of strong performances, recording a jump of 6.13m (20-1 1/2) in the long jump and finishing the 110m hurdles in 16.19.
Savion Thomas had a productive meet with a mark of 6.11m (20-0 1/2) in the long jump, a jump of 12.71m (41-8 1/2) in the triple jump, and a personal-best time of 22.57 in the 200m dash.
In the triple jump,
Ashton Jackson led the WildCats with a mark of 13.23m (43-5).
Mario Carter followed with a leap of 13.05m (42-9 3/4), while
Xavier Calloway recorded a distance of 11.93m (39-1 3/4).
Jeff Mendscole ran a season-best 10.38 in the 100m dash and added a personal-best time of 22.64 in the 200m dash.
Leander Jackson also posted a season-best time of 11.08 in the 100m, while
Kyle Kurtz recorded season-best marks of 11.42 in the 100m and 22.60 in the 200m.
Kyron Gault added a season-best 11.52 in the 100m.
Christian Humes finished the 200m dash in 22.61 and placed 20th in the 400m dash with a time of 49.67.
Emir Jackson clocked a 22.79 in the 200m and a 50.75 in the 400m.
Christopher Wills recorded a time of 23.48 in the 200m and set a personal best of 54.17 in the 400m.
Benjamin Bublitz posted a time of 23.72 in the 200m and a personal-best 53.16 in the 400m, while
Jacob Johnson added a personal-best time of 53.25 in the event.
Ariel Huseni ran a personal-best 2:10.51 in the 800m dash.
In the hurdles,
Ethan Fisher placed 20th in the 110m hurdles with a personal-best time of 15.67 and finished 18th in the 400m hurdles in 59.37.
Johan Arends added a personal-best time of 16.34 in the 110m hurdles and completed the 400m hurdles in 1:03.07.
The team continues the outdoor season back home as they head to the University of Lynchburg for the Dennis Craddock Invitational April 10-11.
