LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Randolph College women's track and field team competed in a strong showing this weekend, highlighted by solid performances across sprints, jumps, and throws at the Dr. Jack M. Toms Alumni Invitational this weekend.
Renya Russell had an impressive day, in the 100m preliminaries, she finished with a time of 12.81 and finished 12th overall. She also ran the 200m in 26.14, placing 12th.
Jessica Taylor posted a strong 200m finish in 26.21 and ran the 400m in 59.49, earning seventh place in the event.
Tatianna Langston finished the 100m in 13.01 and competed in the 200m (27.57).
Ryleigh Frayser ran the 100m in 14.63.
Tyana Ayres crossed the line in 14.27 in the 100m and 29.94 in the 200m.
Shaniya Owens competed in both the 100m hurdles and 400m hurdles, finishing the 100m hurdles in 20.79 and in the 400m hurdles in 1:15.87.
The 4x100m relay team of Ayres, Langston, Taylor, and Russell finished sixth with a time of 50.26.
Annabelle Anthony competed in multiple events, finishing in the discus with a throw of 14.43m, the hammer throw with a mark of 11.23m, and in the shot put with a mark of 6.05m. In the javelin, Anthony threw 10.67m, while teammate
Madison Somerville threw 13.56m.
Brooklyn Brooks cleared 1.38m in the high jump to finish 11th. In the long jump,
Kai Pegram finished with a leap of 4.38m (14-04.50), and in the triple jump, Pegram finished with a mark of 9.67m (31-08.75).
The team heads to High Point University for the VertKlasse meeting on April 2-3.
