MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Randolph College women's track and field team turned in a solid showing in their outdoor season opener this weekend at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Renya Russell led the way in the short sprints, clocking a time of 12.73 in the 100m prelims before following it up with a 26.68 finish in the 200m.
Tatianna Langston also contributed in both events, posting times of 12.91 in the 100m and 27.33 in the 200m.
In the 400m,
Jessica Taylor delivered one of the top performances of the meet for the WildCats, placing 17th overall with a time of 59.12.
On the distance side,
Ryleigh Frayser competed in the 800m open, crossing the line in 2:58.19.
Randolph saw success in the relay events, as the 4x100m team of Frayser, Langston, Taylor, and Russell posted a time of 50.31 for 17th place, while the same quartet followed with a 1:49.37 finish in the 4x200m relay to finish 16th.
The WildCats return to Lynchburg for the Dr. Jack Toms Invitational hosted by the University of Lynchburg on March 27-28.
