Women's Track & Field Turn in Solid Performances at VMI Winter Relays

LEXINGTON, Va. - The Randolph College women's track and field team traveled to the VMI Winter Relays (Multis) this weekend.

On day one of competition, five WildCats represented Randolph on the track and in the field. In the 60-meter dash, Renya Russell clocked an 8.12 in the prelims, while Tatianna Langston ran 8.41.

Shaniya Owens ran in the 60-meter hurdles and finished with a time of 11.28. 

The 400-meter dash was led by Jessica Taylor in 59.55. Owens came in at 1:06.27 for a personal best, and Madison Somerville came in at 1:08.38.

In the 200-meter dash, Taylor led the way again with a 26.34. Russell came in at 27.06 for a personal record, and Langston finished in a season-best 27.56.

In the field, Kai Pegram jumped a personal best of 4.29 meters (14-01). Pegram also competed in the triple jump and finished with a mark of 9.03 (29-07.5).

The 'Cats are back in action on Feb. 14 for the Joe LaRocco hosted by Roanoke College.
