LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph men's wrestling team faced Shenandoah in the final regular season dual match for both teams on Thursday evening. The Hornets defeated the WildCats by the score of 33-19.
The WildCats picked up their first points of the match at 125 as Braylon Farris (Lynchburg, Va./Liberty HS) won by forfeit. Zak Gurban (Dumfries, Va.) followed at 133 and was able to squeak out an 11-9 decision over Anakin Burks. The Hornets then picked up victories at 141, 149, and 157. Theodore Piluso (Troutville, Va./Lord Botetourt) got a tech fall over Bryan Mpengo at 165. Elijah Frizzell (Waynesville, N.C./Pisgah HS) had the other tech fall win at 285 as he defeated Samuel Okoturo.
Randolph now prepares for the ODAC Championships next Saturday.
